Beach Schools Cup is an annual, two-day, school-based beach volleyball competition. As the only volleyball competition of its kind, Beach Schools Cup attracts participation from South East Queensland to North Queensland. This event is typically held during term one. Aimed at high schools students of all year levels, Beach Schools Cup divides participants across three divisions: Junior (Years 7 and 8), Intermediate (Years 9 and 10), and Senior (Years 11 and 12).

Last week, seven CHAC teams travelled to Coolangatta to compete in Volleyball Queensland's 2020 Beach Schools Cup. Building on the development of our students during the past year, this promised to be another successful tournament for students to compete in.

Held at Craigslea State High School, this event adopts the Spikezone competition format playing four-a-side mini volleyball on smaller courts and lower nets. Five of our Canterbury volleyball teams competed at the combined Volleyball Queensland Junior and Year 11 Schools Cup which took place from Friday 22 – Sunday 24 October just gone. Our Year 7 Boys unfortunately lost their repechage to qualify for the top eight in a thrilling 16-14 final set.
